March to November: 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.; last admittance is at 4 p.m.
December to February: 9:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.; last admittance is at 3:30 p.m.
The Zoo is closed on the second and fourth Mondays and from December 29th to January 1st.

Omuta City Zoo

By Train or Bus
Get off at Omuta Station on JR Kagoshima Main Line or Nishitetsu Tenjin Omuta Line. You can walk to the Zoo from the station in 15-20 min. Or take Nishitetsu Bus from the east exit of Omuta Station to Keisatsusho-mae bus stop and about 5 minute’s walk to the Zoo.
By Car
From the Kyushu Expressway: Exit at the Nankan IC, turn right at the first intersection, and take Prefectural Road 10 toward Omuta. At the Motomura intersection, turn left on Route 208 toward Arao. At the Omuta Police Station intersection, turn left and right at the three-way intersection.
It takes approximately 30 minutes by car from the Nankan IC to the Zoo.
From the Ariake Engan Road: Turn left at the first intersection after exiting the Omuta IC, and go straight toward downtown Omuta. Pass the Omuta Police Station intersection and turn right at the three-way intersection.
It takes approximately 6 minutes by car from the Omuta IC to the Zoo.
Things to Know
- Please do not feed animals as it may cause them to become sick.
- Pets are not allowed in the Zoo.
- You cannot bring tricycles, balls, kickboards, skateboards, insect nets, and other playground equipment.
- Smoking is prohibited in the Zoo. Please refrain from smoking.
- Please refrain from using tents in the Zoo.
